Meet the Team

Caroline Simpson

Caroline studied at  Le Cordon Bleu and has enjoyed a career cooking for senior business executives, for schoolchildren and hungry pub diners, as well as a growing family ever since. She has a passion to bring flair and imagination to the food at Carnaby’s.

“Quite honestly, I want to create a place that I would like to come to myself, somewhere where I can enjoy the setting and the atmosphere “

Amelia Fell

Amelia studied Food Technology at the University of Newcastle and has a distinction in her Diploma from Edinburgh School of Cookery. She has worked as Head Chef at the nearby, family owned Pack Horse pub for many years and is dedicated to creating a menu that excites diners.

“When we go out to eat, we are looking for something different ourselves, something imaginative- that’s what I am trying to do here”

Clare McWhirter

Clare  spent many years working in high-end retail, and knew for a long time that she wanted to offer quality merchandise and fashion items  that people wouldn’t necessarily be able to find anywhere else.

“I know from experience that it can sometimes be disappointing when you go somewhere- we are trying to create somewhere that people feel excited about and will see as a destination- somewhere worth coming to.”

Linny Simpson

Linny has a business degree from the University of York and, as a young entrepreneur, was the youngest landlord in the North of England when she ran the family pub, The Pack Horse, in nearby Ellingham.

“Carnaby’s is a real family business, not only are Mum, my sister and Auntie involved on a  day-to-day basis, but Dad will often be found washing dishes and brother-in-law Louis provides us with local produce.
